The easy way to claim accessibility expertise is to write about it. The honest way is to build something that has to pass the bar it describes — which is why this site is being rebuilt to WCAG 2.2 AA, keyboard-first, with reduced motion respected and colour never the only signal.
The rules I’m holding it to
- Skip link, landmarks and a sane focus order — the basics done so well nobody notices them.
- Contrast verified, not assumed — every token pair in the palette has its ratio computed.
- Reduced motion respected — nothing autoplays, nothing loops, transitions stay under 250ms.
If the site can’t absorb its own standards gracefully, it isn’t finished — it’s just young. This journal is the record of the young part.
